feat(web): slash commands show in blue in the composer and sent messages - #28071
A slash command like /btw looks the same as the prose after it, in both the composer and the sent message. You can't tell whether T3 Code recognized it or whether it will go to the model as plain text.
Change
A known command at the very start of a prompt now shows in blue, using the same --info-foreground color as chat links. The prompt text itself doesn't change.
Composer:composerSlashCommandDecoration.ts adds a ProseMirror decoration, so the document, serialized prompt, undo, and copy are untouched. It covers the rich and plain text composers. Marked or fenced tokens are skipped, since they serialize with their markers and no longer open the prompt.
Sent messages:UserMessageBody works out the leading command and ChatMarkdown wraps it in the paragraph that opens the message.
Matching:leadingSlashCommand checks the composer's built-in commands plus the selected provider's reported list, so every provider follows from what it reports. Paths like /tmp/foo, unknown commands, and later mentions stay plain.
Not changed:
Mobile: its native composer would need separate iOS and Android work.
/btw and /side when sent: sending one opens a side chat with only the text after the command, so there is no sent /btw to color.
Collapsed agent messages: the one-line preview stays plain.
Known limits I left in:
With plan mode on, /plan fix this is blue but sends as plain text, because /plan and /default only run alone. planModeEnabled defaults to off, and when it's off neither is treated as a command.
Sent colors follow the currently selected provider, as skill chips do, so switching provider can change how older messages look.
#22437 touches the same editor file; whichever lands second needs a small rebase.
Scope and approval
This is a small visual change with no new setting, contract, or server change. It wasn't discussed in Ideas first, so it doesn't have prior approval. I'm happy to open a discussion if you'd rather review the direction there.
Verification
vp test run src/composer-logic.test.ts: 63/63 pass, including the new matching cases.
vp test run --project browser src/components/ComposerPromptEditorTiptap.input.browser.test.tsx src/components/ChatMarkdown.browser.test.tsx: 30/30 pass. New cases cover paths, inline code, bold, code blocks, edits, the command list changing without touching the prompt, and a command only coloring in the first paragraph.
vp run check:changed: format, lint, knip, typecheck, tests, and React compiler pass.
Checked in a real web client from vp run dev, using a Codex thread and isolated dev state, in light and dark. Selecting the sent message still gives /goal clear. Replay threads report no commands and stay plain.
Not checked: the Electron shell, mobile, or real sent commands on providers other than Codex.
The "before" images are from 85bd3f2a2a, this branch's base on main. They are slightly softer than the "after" images because of the capture, not the change.

A command like /btw looks the same as the prose after it, so you can't tell
whether it was recognized or will go to the model as plain text.
A known command opening the prompt is now blue while you type, and in the sent
message when one appears. Matching uses the composer's built-in commands plus
the selected provider's list, so paths like /tmp/foo and later mentions stay
plain. It's a decoration only, so the prompt, undo, and copy don't change.

Macroscope's review found this PR requires human approval — This adds blue highlighting for recognized slash commands without changing command execution. The new lint-suppression directive requires human review; a separate Medium finding also flags misleading highlighting for partially formatted commands.

Bolding only the w in /btw left the first text node unmarked, so the whole
token turned blue even though the prompt serializes as /bt**w** and won't run.
Only color a command that fits inside that first unmarked text node.

Walkthrough
The change adds leading slash-command matching and highlighting to the composer and user-message rendering. Built-in and provider commands are passed to the editor and timeline. Recognized leading commands receive visual highlighting.

Summary
Command matching and editor decoration apps/web/src/composer-logic.ts, apps/web/src/composer-logic.test.ts, apps/web/src/components/composerSlashCommandDecoration.ts
Adds case-insensitive matching for known commands at the start of text, selects built-in commands based on available modes, and decorates a recognized command in the composer.
Combines built-in and provider commands, passes them to the editor, and updates the decoration when the command list or editor mode changes. Tests cover command matching, formatting, edits, and command-list updates.
Resolves provider commands for the active working directory and passes them through timeline state. User-message rendering highlights a recognized command only in the first paragraph.

@macroscopeapp The blocking correctness issue from your Approvability check is fixed in e15bb9d: a partly formatted command like /bt**w** is no longer colored. The composer's browser test now covers it, and all required checks pass on that commit.
The oxlint-disable on the composer effect is still there because AGENTS.md requires an effect that stays to state its reason that way.

verified as-is at 2bef95582d02760ab0e89fd8477140920419c8d8 on this linux vm, using the repository playwright dependency and /usr/bin/google-chrome against vp run dev.
reproduced on github/main (54c5f25249961a1aa0b61932329092eadbd9d6fc) in a separate worktree: composer /btw and sent /goal clear stayed plain. stopped that server before starting the exact pr head.
created the project and conversation through the app, with real codex gpt-6.1-sol turns through the local proxy. preserved that app-created conversation for matching before/after captures. no mocks, fixtures, replay provider, or demo data.
the pr colors leading /btw in the composer and /goal in sent messages in light and dark themes. rich and plain text composers both work. /goalx, /tmp/foo, and later mentions stay plain. bold and partly bold command tokens stay plain.
editing /goal into /goalx removes the color; deleting the extra character restores it. undo restores the draft. clipboard reads from both the composer and sent-message copy action returned exactly /goal clear.
sent /goal clear again on the pr and received "No goal is set." sent /btw Reply with exactly: side chat verification ready. Do not run tools or change files. and saw a side chat open, receive the text without /btw, and return "side chat verification ready."
vp run check:changed 15fe2832727893cbdd2214383f9f971474849695 passed through blacksmith-check: format, lint, knip, typechecks, 273 tests across 11 files, and 9 react compiler checks. the worker initially lacked chromium; installed it and reran successfully. no source changes or pushes were needed.

native ios/android, electron shell integration, macos/windows, providers other than codex, and remote/relay/tunnel connections were not exercised on this linux web setup. the documented plan-mode-with-arguments limitation was not exercised. these results verify the web/codex flow, not every client or provider.
Conflict: ChatView.tsx kept main's WorkspaceMutationIdContext wrapper and re-added this PR's slashCommands prop.
