feat(mobile): start a no-project task from the iPhone Action button - #25763
iPhone users need a way to start a T3 task from the Action button. The shortcut should open a fresh No project composer with the keyboard ready, including when the app has been closed.
Change
Adds a New Task App Shortcut that can be assigned to the Action button and is also discoverable by Siri and Spotlight. The Expo plugin compiles the intent into the app target, and a native inbox retains the request until JavaScript and navigation are ready.
Each invocation uses the existing No project flow, creates a fresh draft, and focuses the composer. It waits for connection hydration and keeps the normal pairing or project-selection recovery UI when no environment or scratch workspace is available. Existing drafts are preserved.
Scope and approval
Direction: Ideas discussion #12159, which proposed App Intents (Shortcuts, Action button, Spotlight, Siri) as a thin Swift module on the shipping Expo app. Julius Marminge replied "I'm all for it!". This PR is one verb from that list, "New task".
Julius asked there whether Expo 58 upgrades App Intents. The Expo 58 expo-widgets package declares only non-discoverable widget intents (reload and user interaction), with no AppShortcutsProvider, so an App Shortcut still needs its own Swift declaration.
This is iOS only. It uses the existing workspace RPC and does not change Android launcher shortcuts, web, desktop, or provider behavior.
Verification
vp i completed. The initial full native build exposed a Swift import access-level conflict with Expo's generated imports; using internal import T3NativeControls fixed it. The app-target Sources entry and installed App Intents metadata were checked. vp run mobile:install ios 2A354329-54D2-435B-A4D0-9ADAFDCC93A7 confirmed the merged branch's native fingerprint is compatible.
On the iOS 27.2 simulator, ran the actual Shortcuts → T3 Code Dev → New Task action with the app killed and backgrounded. Both opened an empty No project composer with the keyboard visible. Repeated both after merging current upstream main. The earlier background run also started from a populated project-specific draft and opened a separate empty draft.
vp run check:changed passed formatting, lint, knip, and affected typechecks. NewTaskRouteScreen.test.tsx has 7 tests: automatic scratch opening, connection hydration, pairing, manual selection, failure recovery, unsupported scratch workspaces, and a picker that is no longer on top ignoring its scratch result (a second shortcut press during the request). The last one fails without its guard.
After merging main at 5b15cfc, the shortcut waits for navigation through main's whenRootNavigationReady and subscribes to intents before draining the pending one. Re-ran New Task on the iOS 27.2 simulator with the app killed and with it backgrounded on the chat list; both opened an empty No project composer with the keyboard visible.
SwiftLint with apps/mobile/.swiftlint.yml passed on both new Swift files with zero violations.
Physical Action button assignment and locked-screen behavior remain untested. No physical iPhone installation was required for this verification.
Before the focus fix, the background shortcut opened the composer without its keyboard. After the fix:
Adds a "New Task" App Shortcut that users can assign to the Action button
(also reachable from Siri and Spotlight). It opens the same new-task
composer as the compose button and Cmd+N, with the keyboard raised.
The intent compiles into the app target through a config plugin, since
static pods do not ship App Intents metadata. A small native inbox holds
the request until JS is listening, which covers cold launches.

… imports
ExpoModulesProvider.swift imports T3NativeControls as internal, and Swift 6 rejects a plain import of the same module elsewhere in the target.
…osed
On a cold launch the intent was handled in a root-layout effect, which runs before the root navigator registers, so React Navigation dropped the navigation. Intents now wait for the navigation container's onReady, and run immediately once it is ready.
Macroscope's review found this PR requires human approval — The change adds an iOS shortcut that opens a no-project draft with keyboard focus. It also introduces two effect-budget lint suppressions that require human review.

Walkthrough
The mobile app registers an iOS App Intent for starting a new task. The intent reaches mobile navigation, which can start a scratch workspace and pass a request ID through draft creation to composer autofocus.

Summary
Register and deliver the iOS intent apps/mobile/plugins/ios/T3AppIntents.swift, apps/mobile/modules/t3-native-controls/ios/T3AppIntentsModule.swift, apps/mobile/modules/t3-native-controls/expo-module.config.json, apps/mobile/plugins/withIosAppIntents.cjs, apps/mobile/app.config.ts, apps/mobile/fingerprint.config.js
Adds the iOS shortcut, native intent inbox and event module, and Expo configuration that copies and registers the intent source.
Dispatch the intent and start the task route apps/mobile/src/features/shortcuts/useAppIntents.ts, apps/mobile/src/features/layout/AdaptiveWorkspaceLayout.tsx, apps/mobile/src/features/threads/new-task-composer-focus.ts, apps/mobile/src/features/threads/NewTaskRouteScreen.tsx, apps/mobile/src/features/threads/NewTaskRouteScreen.test.tsx, apps/mobile/vite.config.ts
Dispatches pending new-task intents after navigation is ready. The route can start an eligible scratch workspace, display its loading state, and handle startup failure. Tests cover these route conditions.
Carry request identity to composer focus apps/mobile/src/features/threads/NewTaskDraftRouteScreen.tsx, apps/mobile/src/features/threads/NewTaskDraftScreen.tsx, apps/mobile/src/features/threads/ThreadComposer.tsx, apps/mobile/src/features/threads/ThreadDetailScreen.tsx
Carries the request ID into draft creation and uses its match to enable composer autofocus.
