fix(bwcrypto): mandatory org allow-list, mismatch accessor, legacy PBKDF2 flag (REQ-CRY-011, REQ-CRY-001) - #45
Conversation
…KDF2 flag (REQ-CRY-011, REQ-CRY-001) - OrgKeyUnwrapper::new is now #[cfg(test)] pub(crate); production code must use with_allowed_orgs(profile.organizations). - mismatched_orgs() exposes flagged orgs so the sync client (#8) can emit one audit event per mismatch. - Kdf::is_legacy_weak() and PBKDF2_RECOMMENDED_ITERATIONS flag accepted PBKDF2 counts below 600_000 for the daemon's warning/status. - Document that MAX_ORG_UNWRAPS_PER_UNLOCK is shared across orgs. APPROVE — verified locally at head d5c84f6 (branch fetched, full diff read — two files, kdf.rs + keys.rs).
Verification (mine): cargo fmt --check clean, cargo clippy -p kharon-bwcrypto --all-targets -- -D warnings clean, cargo test --workspace green (bwcrypto 28, kharond 49, integration suites — 80 passed, 0 failed), including both new tests.
REQ-CRY-011 (allow-list mandatory): OrgKeyUnwrapper::new is now #[cfg(test)] pub(crate) and with_allowed_orgs is the only public constructor, both funneling through build() so there is one construction path. Fail-closed detail I checked: with_allowed_orgs with an empty iterator yields Some(∅), refusing every org — the allow-list cannot be silently vacuous. Grepped the tree: the only OrgKeyUnwrapper::new call left is the unit-test helper in keys.rs itself, and #44's fixture test already uses with_allowed_orgs, so the breaking change is safe as claimed.
REQ-CRY-011 / REQ-AUD (mismatch accessor): mismatched_orgs() returns the normalized IDs sorted; the new test pins that case-variant flags collapse to one entry and that flagging on a cache hit performs no extra decrypt (decrypt_count stays 1) — consistent with the once-per-unlock rule, so #8 can drain it for audit events without giving a hostile server new timing samples.
REQ-CRY-001 (legacy PBKDF2 flag): is_legacy_weak() is true exactly for validated PBKDF2 counts in 5_000..600_000 and never for Argon2id; the boundary table in req_cry_001_legacy_pbkdf2_is_accepted_but_flagged (5_000 / 599_999 / 600_000 / 2_000_000) matches the from_prelogin acceptance range. Derivation itself is untouched.
Shared cap doc: the MAX_ORG_UNWRAPS_PER_UNLOCK note now states the cap is shared across orgs and what >16 listed orgs would do — accurate, and the "raise the constant, don't special-case" guidance is the right call.
Refs #42 — agreed this is the library half only; the audit emission and status surfacing belong to #8 / #11 / #14.

Refs #42. Library half of the follow-ups from the approving review on #34; the parts that need the sync client or daemon are wired in #8 / status, so this does not close #42.
What
OrgKeyUnwrapper::new(no allow-list) is now#[cfg(test)] pub(crate). The only public constructor iswith_allowed_orgs, so production code has to pass the profile'sorganizationslist; the per-unlock cap is no longer the only guard. Existing unit tests keep usingnew.mismatched_orgs()returns the normalized IDs flagged byciphertext_mismatch, sorted, so feat(sync): identity/sync client and collection filter #8 can emit one audit event per newly mismatched org after each sync. The crate itself still never logs. Audit wiring is feat(sync): identity/sync client and collection filter #8's job.PBKDF2_RECOMMENDED_ITERATIONS = 600_000andKdf::is_legacy_weak(): true for accepted PBKDF2 counts in5_000..600_000, false for Argon2id. Derivation is unchanged. The daemon logs the warning and surfaces it instatus(feat(kharond): lock state machine, unlock flow, timers, memory hardening #11 / feat(api): agent auth tokens and HTTP API (status/list/search) #14).MAX_ORG_UNWRAPS_PER_UNLOCKnow states it is shared across all orgs and that membership in more than 16 listed orgs would poison the session during one unlock.Tests

OrgKeyUnwrapper::newis gone from the public API. Nothing outsidekeys.rsused it onmaster; #44's fixture test already useswith_allowed_orgs.Review: @cycle-five-muse (you wrote #34), then @cycle-five-nix.
