GitHub requires you to sign in and downloads each installer as a ZIP artifact. Extract vp-setup.exe, then run it against this preview build:

Add the official Homebrew tap at
voidzero-dev/vite-plus/vp. Stable installations download the native CLI from GitHub Releases without Node.js or npm dependencies.On first use,
vpprepares Node.js and uses its bundled npm to download pinned pnpm. Both npm and pnpm use the user's registry and authentication configuration. The CLI stores matching JavaScript dependencies and completion state in user directories.Homebrew keeps control of the executable. Stable shims survive upgrades, and setup preserves saved preferences and global packages. CLI notices identify the owning formula and distinguish Core from the official tap. Core installations receive migration instructions that preserve user data.
The release workflow proposes formula updates after the archives and matching npm packages are available. Release instructions require maintainers to complete the formula update for each stable version. Stable installation stays disabled until a compatible release is published. Installation checks run for packaging changes or the
test: install-e2elabel. Preview publication and installation checks can run concurrently.Set
HOMEBREW_VP_PR_VERSIONto a PR number or full commit SHA to install a published preview from the registry bridge. The formula resolves the commit and verifies the archive checksum. First use installs matching preview dependencies.The guides describe the official tap, including installation, preview testing, registry configuration, and removal. The RFC records its design and compatibility requirements. Related to #1171 and #2719.
