Do you think the Changelog is required in order to get this package merged?
As you said it has not recieved an update in a long time so I thought its not needed.
It is just a suggestion that follows common practices outlined in the Manual.md. Ultimately it is up to the maintainers to decide whether to accept the package or not. So it's best to wait for their input!

Thank you for your input! I wondered if packages have a set waiting-period until merged but it doesnt seem like it.
