In `@src/desktop.js`:
- Line 50: Update the Windows named-pipe setup around the non-win32 platform
branch to authenticate the server with a handshake bound to the T3 desktop
process before sending requests, rather than relying on requestId or pipe user
identity. Configure the server pipe with a restrictive DACL and
FILE_FLAG_FIRST_PIPE_INSTANCE so another process cannot pre-create the
predictable endpoint.

Users already connect their computers in T3's desktop connection manager.
--desktopnow reuses that catalog and its authenticated connections, so the global MCP does not need separate URLs, tokens, or a parent thread ID.Requires the companion desktop bridge: pingdotgg/t3code#12148. The desktop must remain open. Existing direct and scoped configurations continue to work. The client checks private socket ownership, correlates replies, handles cancellation, and refreshes the catalog for each tool call.
Validation: 17 tests pass, one opt-in live test is skipped, and syntax checks pass. Independent Codex GPT-5.6-Sol high review signed off. A fresh global-prefix install of the packed preview discovered the live Mac mini and MacBook Air. In the real desktop UI, an Astra-low controller created a Fable 5.1-low thread on the Air through T3 Connect, exchanged messages, settled it, and revived its retained history.
Installable preview and live UI evidence. Live SSH was not separately tested; this does not install provider tools remotely or add native conversation forks.
Closes #1.
Desktop bridge mode is currently enabled on macOS/Linux only; Windows fails closed pending authenticated named-pipe support. Direct MCP connection configuration remains available on Windows.
