test(web): large-text preview recovery waits for indexing to finish - #26307
AttachmentFilePreview.browser.test.tsx › "large text preview recovery" › "retains the workspace viewer across URL renewals and reloads revisions and manual refreshes" flaked on CI with expected 'Full file64 lines · Indexing…Loading the rest of the file…' to contain '1,000 lines'.
Why:LargeTextViewer first paints a 64-line prefix from a range fetch, then waits two frames before it starts the indexing worker. Only the worker's final meta (complete: true) shows the full count. On a loaded runner, the worker module's cold load (Vite transform plus import) can take longer than vi.waitFor's default window. https://git.cafe/pingdotgg/t3code/pulls/25664 waited for the worker to be constructed, but the worker still had to load and finish indexing after that, and the test had no signal for that milestone. The component itself does not stall; it is only slow to start.
Fix: the test's Worker stub now listens for the worker's final report (complete meta or error), and the test awaits that promise before asserting 1,000 lines. No timeouts, retries, or frame waits are involved. The later steps of the test assert on text that the prefetched first screen already shows, so they don't depend on indexing.
Verification:
Red probe: delaying the worker's open message by 1.5 s reproduces the exact CI failure without the fix. With the fix, the same probe passes.
10/10 local runs pass. 8/8 runs pass with 16 busy-loop CPU hogs on a 16-core box.
Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — This change makes the large-text preview recovery test wait for indexing completion before checking the line count. Its scope is confined to an ignored test path, with no production behavior change.

The large-text recovery browser test now tracks when each stubbed worker reports an error or complete metadata. It waits for the first worker to finish before checking the line count.

Summary
Track worker completion and synchronize assertion apps/web/src/components/files/AttachmentFilePreview.browser.test.tsx
The test imports TextPreviewResult, records a completion promise for each worker, and waits for the first worker’s promise before checking the line count.
A worker load failure can hang this browser test and contaminate later tests; settle the promise on native errors before merging.

The settled promise resolves only on protocol messages. A native Worker error event (for example, a failed module load) produces no protocol message, so await settled[0] never returns. The test scope cannot exit, so await using screen and using _worker are not disposed. A test timeout rejects the test but does not run the disposers. The stubbed global Worker and the mounted screen then remain in place for later tests in the file.
Resolve the promise on the native error event too. The test then fails at the 1,000 lines assertion, and the disposers run.
