ApprovabilityVerdict: Needs Human Approval Macroscope's review found this PR requires human approval — This XL change adds shared MCP servers and skill controls across multiple live provider session implementations, including credential propagation, permissions, registration, revocation, and cleanup. It also introduces a static-analysis suppression and has an unresolved High-severity fallback concern, so the runtime and safety implications require human review. This is harmless, because the fingerprint only needs to change when the configuration changes.

Fixed the outside-diff missing-thread/project fallback: known environment skill-disable rules survive, while user MCP servers and browser/device access are withheld. The fingerprint is recomputed over the withheld server configuration, so retained OpenCode 2 registrations are invalidated; the earlier claim that keeping the environment-server fingerprint was harmless was incorrect. The existing manager lifecycle case compares real healthy/fallback provider configurations and an equivalent no-server configuration. All 66 manager cases pass; exact previous source fails the new assertion. Verified at f950289. |

When a configured MCP server has sensitive values,
claudeMcpQueryOverridesstores them inmcpEnvironment. This call merges them into the Claude SDKenv. Claude shell commands run inside that CLI process and can read the credentials. Keep the values scoped to MCP registration instead of the CLI-wide environment. Preserve the existing secret-reference handling when implementing the server-scoped delivery.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Does a new Codex thread receive the latest tool settings when an existing app-server process is reused? We encountered a stale connector exclusion in our fork. I haven’t reproduced it on this stack, so I’m asking about lifecycle coverage rather than reporting a confirmed bug here. |
Problem
Provider sessions need effective environment/project Tools configuration, including when browser/device access is off. Disabled skills, credentials and failed MCP registration cleanup must survive provider preparation.
Change
Resolve Tools in the session service and supply them through existing provider adapters without writing native configuration files. New sessions and Restart agent session pick up changes; already attached sessions keep their starting configuration. Claude receives user MCP credentials as server-local configuration over its existing stdin registration; they are absent from the CLI environment, argv and protocol logs. Unavailable settings abort preparation. If a later project lookup fails, retain the known project’s effective skill-disable rules while withholding browser/device and user MCP servers. If the thread cannot be resolved and project restrictions might apply, fail preparation instead of dropping those restrictions. Compute the fallback fingerprint over that withheld server list so OpenCode 2 invalidates its old registration.
Shared MCP supports Claude, Codex, Cursor, spawned OpenCode 1, OpenCode 2 and compatible ACP providers including Grok/Antigravity. ACP HTTP requires its advertised capability. Pi, Muse and external OpenCode 1 remain unsupported. Selective runtime skill disabling supports Claude, Codex and OpenCode 1.
OpenCode 2 isolates registrations by thread, reconnects listed failed registrations and retains failed removals for retry. Revocation appends a namespace deny and stops preparation before prompting until removal succeeds. User tools retain session approval rules. Fingerprints are opaque SHA-256; Codex MCP protocol values and OpenCode request-bearing failure causes are excluded from logs.
Scope and approval
Maintainer takeover of Julius Marminge’s #17101, rebuilt as three layers against the current architecture. Original author credit is retained. This layer belongs to the same scoped Tools feature.
Macroscope still requires human approval of feature direction/scope; no approval or merge is claimed. Twelve full-diff review rounds covered the cumulative stack. Both final written reviewer reports found no actionable code blocker. Earlier findings corrected authorization, credential preservation, provider lifecycle, navigation, validation, lookup fallback, and failed-save/retry handling.
Verification
Post-publication handoff: CodeRabbit’s latest review raises the Option.none missing-project path retaining MCP servers. This differs from the fixed thrown-lookup failure. It remains for central triage; no fix or dismissal is claimed.
Latest manager suite: 66/66 cases passed. A further 25 targeted Claude cases passed; the independent round-eleven review also ran the entire 287-case Claude suite at this unchanged provider head. Targeted lint and scoped server typecheck passed. Existing cases cover known-project lookup failure, unknown-thread fail-closed behavior, empty-server fingerprints, and actual fake-CLI stdin registration with credentials absent from spawn environment/argv and protocol logs. Exact prior production source fails two manager and two Claude assertions. No new case was added.
Earlier focused provider suites cover injection, skill controls, credential-log redaction and unavailable-settings failure. The OpenCode 2 follow-up passed 103 cases with realistic no-op registration and removal failure/retry behavior; its negative controls fail on prior code. Provider/server scoped checks passed. The final host snapshot confirms all three published heads. At the middle/top heads it lists completed metadata/configured-bot checks, with human approvability NEUTRAL and top correctness NEUTRAL; the broad build/test jobs are not present on those heads. Earlier full CI is not current-head validation. Central coordination owns CI follow-up, landing and scope approval. Monitoring was stopped at the coordinator’s request.
A real Codex turn in the isolated client called a disposable stdio MCP echo and did not discover a disabled project skill. This capture predates review fixes and proves neither other providers nor the latest error paths.
No live HTTP MCP, mixed-environment credentials, retained OpenCode 2 lookup/removal failure, other provider account, Electron, native mobile, macOS or Windows verification. Spawned OpenCode 1 refuses startup if T3’s own MCP registration fails. External OpenCode 1 injection is excluded because its SDK cannot safely remove persistent dynamic configuration. Cleanup of an unreachable external OpenCode process remains bounded best effort.
