fix: Server crash when afterFind trigger returns a non-array value - #10756
An afterFind trigger that returns a truthy non-array value (an object, a string, a number) crashes the server.
The afterFind branch of getResponseObject falls back to request.objects only when the response is falsy. Any other value goes straight to response.map(...), which throws TypeError: response.map is not a function. That throw happens inside the success handler of .then(success, error) in maybeRunAfterFindTrigger. The chain is created inside a new Promise executor and nothing handles its rejection, so:
the outer promise never settles and the client request hangs;
the rejection is unhandled. Node turns it into an uncaughtException, and Parse Server's handler calls process.exit(1).
Every query on a class with such a trigger takes the server down. The same applies to an afterFind webhook that responds with a non-array success value.
Approach
In the afterFind branch of getResponseObject, reject with SCRIPT_FAILED and the message afterFind trigger must return an array of objects. when the response is not an array. Returning null or undefined still falls back to the original objects.
Add .catch(error) after .then(success, error) in maybeRunAfterFindTrigger and maybeRunTrigger, so any future throw inside success becomes a request error instead of an unhandled rejection.
Wrap the trigger logging in maybeRunTrigger's success and error callbacks so a serialization failure (for example a circular attribute set by the trigger) cannot stop the promise from settling. Previously this also left the request hanging with an unhandled rejection.
Specs cover find and get with object, string and number return values, and confirm that null and undefined still return the original objects, and that a beforeSave trigger leaving an unserializable object still settles (with the original error when the trigger rejects).

Bug Fixes
Queries using an afterFind trigger now return a clear error if the trigger responds with a value other than an array of objects.
Returning null or undefined from the trigger preserves the original query results.
Improved error handling during trigger processing so logging failures are less likely to obscure the original result or error, including when triggers run after find or get queries.

Keep pull requests small. Large PRs will be rejected. Break complex features into smaller, incremental PRs.

Note
Please respond to review comments from AI agents just like you would to comments from a human reviewer. Let the reviewer resolve their own comments, unless they have reviewed and accepted your commit, or agreed with your explanation for why the feedback was incorrect.
Caution
Pull requests must be written using an AI agent with human supervision. Pull requests written entirely by a human will likely be rejected, because of lower code quality, higher review effort and the higher risk of introducing bugs. Please note that AI review comments on this pull request alone do not satisfy this requirement. Our CI and AI review are safeguards, not development tools. If many issues are flagged, rethink your development approach. Invest more effort in planning and design rather than using review cycles to fix low-quality code.

afterFind rejects non-array results with SCRIPT_FAILED. Trigger logging exceptions are caught, and trigger promise chains catch rejections raised by their handlers. Tests cover invalid results and null or undefined returns.
The response handler rejects non-array afterFind results with SCRIPT_FAILED. Tests cover find and get failures and verify that null and undefined preserve the original find results.
Catch trigger logging exceptions src/triggers.js
Success and error logging use logSafely to catch logging exceptions. The trigger promise chains catch rejections raised by their handlers.
parse-community/parse-server#10865: Adds catch handling to the same trigger promise chains and changes getResponseObject error handling.

observed — src (service) was modified; 1 changed file maps to changed impact.
Before / after behavior
observed — Modified behavior in src/triggers.js: getResponseObject now rejects non-array afterFind responses with a Parse.Error using SCRIPT_FAILED; previously it proceeded to map the response.
observed — Modified behavior in src/triggers.js: Added logSafely, which catches exceptions thrown by a logging callback and reports them with logger.error.
observed — Modified behavior in src/triggers.js: maybeRunAfterFindTrigger now adds a catch after .then(success, error) to handle rejections arising from that handler.
observed — Modified behavior in src/triggers.js: maybeRunTrigger now invokes success logging through logSafely, retaining the existing trigger-specific log-level selection.

Full details: Security Check
Explanation
The pull request changes only getResponseObject and adds tests. The changed code validates afterFind output with Array.isArray before the existing mapping, then returns a fixed SCRIPT_FAILED error for non-array values. It adds no dynamic evaluation, authorization changes, secret handling, unsafe deserialization, path or query construction, or user-controlled code execution. The existing array transformation remains unchanged. No security vulnerability is introduced by the reviewed diff.

Explanation
All supplied review feedback was engaged. The earlier CodeRabbit thread is resolved and marked addressed. Commit 5454240 updates the rejection assertions to check both Parse.Error.SCRIPT_FAILED and the expected message with jasmine.objectContaining. The current review reports zero actionable findings. Prior failure addressed: Commit 5454240 added explicit code and message assertions at the affected afterFind rejection tests, resolving the prior outstanding finding.

@mtrezza could you review and or merge this one? I have one more PR to open and apparently I'm at my limit, but I think this one is pretty clear and clean
Make this test distinguish logging failure from save serialization failure.
The trigger leaves a circular value on the object passed to save(), so the save can reject during object serialization. Because the assertion accepts any rejection, it can also pass when the success logger throws and .catch(error) converts that failure into a rejected save. The test does not prove that the logging exception is safely ignored or that the successful trigger settles as intended.
Use a serializable save payload and inject a failure into the success logging call, then assert the trigger runner's settlement and the expected save result separately.

Restrict the afterFind fallback to nullish results.
When an afterFind handler returns false, 0, or '', if (!response) replaces that invalid non-array result with request.objects. The find or get then returns the original objects instead of rejecting with SCRIPT_FAILED.

Prevent outer afterFind logging from rejecting the result.
An afterFind handler can return an array containing a Parse.Object whose toJSON() returns cyclic data. toJSONwithObjects preserves that value, and the outer JSON.stringify(resultsAsJSON) then throws before logTriggerAfterHook runs. The wrapper rejects instead of returning the trigger result, so ordinary find and get operations fail. Catch the complete logging call, including argument serialization.
