Description

Before: The repo ships a sequentialthinking reference server under src/sequentialthinking, listed in the README's Reference Servers section and in CLAUDE.md, wired into the root npm workspace as a dependency of the root package.json, and present in package-lock.json.

After: The server directory and every reference to it are gone. The README, CLAUDE.md, root package.json, and package-lock.json no longer mention it, and CI's dynamic package detection (which finds src/*/package.json) no longer picks it up.

How: git rm -r src/sequentialthinking; removed the Sequential Thinking bullet from README.md; removed the sequentialthinking/ row from the monorepo table in CLAUDE.md and updated the server count from 7 (4 TS, 3 Py) to 6 (3 TS, 3 Py); removed the @modelcontextprotocol/server-sequential-thinking dependency from the root package.json; regenerated package-lock.json with npm install --package-lock-only (no other package versions changed).

Server Details

  • Server: sequentialthinking
  • Changes to: entire server removed

Motivation and Context

Remove the sequentialthinking server and all references to it from the repository.

How Has This Been Tested?

At the repo root: npm ci, npm run build, and npm test --workspaces --if-present (everything, filesystem, memory: 364 tests passed). Re-ran a case-insensitive grep for sequential.?thinking|sequentialthinking|server-sequential-thinking across the tree with zero hits.

Breaking Changes

The @modelcontextprotocol/server-sequential-thinking package will no longer be built or published from this repository.

Types of changes

  • Bug fix (non-breaking change which fixes an issue)
  • New feature (non-breaking change which adds functionality)
  • Breaking change (fix or feature that would cause existing functionality to change)
  • Documentation update

Checklist

  • I have updated the server's README accordingly
  • I have tested this with an LLM client
  • My code follows the repository's style guidelines
  • New and existing tests pass locally
  • I have added appropriate error handling

Additional context

Files touched: src/sequentialthinking/** (deleted), README.md, CLAUDE.md, package.json, package-lock.json.
