ace restore --project keeps the restored channel in the original project's lane #624

Closed

Description

@iamnbutler

ace restore --project puts the restored channel under the other project, but it keeps working in the original project's lane.

What was seen

  • ace restore /tmp/bk843 --project …/projects/Hello-World printed diff-test-681-3 a2a4ee568b33643b (exit 0). ace ls, the app and the details sidebar list it under octocat/Hello-World.
  • ace info shows "cwd": "…/projects/sandbox/.lane/trees/fair-ladder/diff-test-681", and the details sidebar shows sandbox's branch fair-ladder/diff-test-681, "Committed 123 files", and live Create PR and Push 1. A message here would make the agent work in sandbox's lane, and those buttons would push sandbox's work from a Hello-World channel.
  • Nothing warned at restore time. A missing or existing folder gives raw ENOENT…/EEXIST…, and there's no option to name the restored channel.

Steps

  1. ace backup <channel in project A> /tmp/bk
  2. ace restore /tmp/bk --project <project B>
  3. ace info <restored> and open its details sidebar.

Expected: the restored channel starts in project B on a fresh lane, or the restore refuses another project.

Rig: web (loopback source host from origin/main, 0.0.53 code).

Map: ^845.
