feat(ai-edition): tell the agent and MCP clients where zoom transitions are - #1055
Conversation
A zoom pill shows the hold; its moves in and out run outside it. zoomTransitions converts them to timeline ms through the speed-aware screen clock (with timelineTimeMs, the inverse of screenTimeMs, mirroring ScreenClock::source_at), and transitionCutsMs measures what trims cut off them.
…ns are (#1028) getCurrentDocument gives each zoom zoomInFromSec, zoomOutUntilSec, transitionSec and, when a trim cuts a move, cutByTrim. addZoom/setZoom/addTrim/setTrim (and their batches) report cutTransitions when the edit newly cuts one: a warning, never a refusal. The six tool descriptions explain the windows and the system prompt asks to leave them untrimmed. MCP clients get all of it through the shared executor and descriptions.

AI editing snapshots expose transition timing and cut status. Trim and zoom writes report newly introduced cuts. Agent guidance and architecture documentation describe these fields and warnings. Merge Risk: ⚪ Minimal · up to This change adds zoom transition timing to the agent's snapshot and to trim and zoom write results. The behavior is informational and non-blocking, and the reported unit tests cover the main cases. No actionable merge risk remains. - Around line 732-735: Update the trim-to-span mapping around trimToTimelineSpan
so legacy trims without clipId are evaluated against every applicable clip, not
just the first matching span. Preserve clip-specific trim behavior, and include
each resulting span when calculating cuts so zooms on affected clips receive
cutByTrim and cutTransitions warnings.

to clarify that speed can shorten or extend the timeline window for a move of
fixed screen-time duration. Update the snapshot note in agent-tools.ts at lines
816-817 to match and direct the agent to use the calculated transition bounds;
no direct change is required at either site beyond these note updates.

…sset; say speed scales the move both ways
Summary
A zoom pill shows the hold, while its moves in and out run outside it, so a trim placed next to a zoom silently makes the export jump. This is the agent and MCP half of #1028:
zoomTransitionsandtransitionCutsMsinsrc/lib/ai-edition/timeline/zoom-transitions.ts, speed-aware through a new inverse screen clock,timelineTimeMs(mirrorsScreenClock::source_at).getCurrentDocumentgives each zoomzoomInFromSec,zoomOutUntilSec,transitionSecand, when a trim cuts a move,cutByTrim.cutTransitions(zoom, side, seconds lost) as a warning, never a refusal.openscreen-mcp-server.tsis untouched, so no conflict with feat(mcp): let MCP clients read and edit every project, not only the open one #1040.The timeline trails, and the Full Camera and chained-pan windows, follow in separate PRs.
