Summary

The home page header ran out of room on narrow screens once the server switcher was always present.

Add repo moved beside the search bar (Repos, RepoList, RepoListControls)

  • The header "Repo" button is now desktop-only (hidden md:inline-flex), freeing its width for the server switcher.
  • On mobile the action is a bordered 36px + button in the search row, matching the pattern already used beside the remote project search: search, add, filter.
  • The mobile filter trigger is now a 36px square with a border, so the search field and both icon buttons sit on one 36px row instead of two different heights.
  • The filter trigger also gained an accessible name ("Filter and sort repositories"), which it previously lacked.

Empty state keeps the action

  • "No repositories yet" rendered no controls at all, so hiding the header button would have left a new mobile user with no way to add a repo. It now carries an "Add repository" button.

Validation

  • pnpm test:frontend: 275 files, 3350 tests pass (new coverage: the add button renders after the search input on mobile, calls the handler once, and is absent at desktop width)
  • pnpm typecheck:frontend: clean
  • pnpm lint:frontend: clean
  • Browser, 390px viewport: header shows only the wordmark and Settings; row reads 270x36 search, 36x36 +, 36x36 filter, all at the same baseline; tapping + opens the Add Repository dialog. At 1280px the header "Repo" button returns and the row shows only the sort control.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added an “Add repository” button when the repository list is empty.
    • Added a mobile “Add repository” button next to the repository search controls; selecting either button opens the add-repository dialog.
  • Style
    • Changed the mobile filter-and-sort control to an icon-sized button with an accessible label.
    • The local-server “Repo” button is now hidden on narrower screens.

The header ran out of room on narrow screens now that the server switcher is
always present. The Repo button is desktop-only and mobile gets a bordered
icon button beside the search input instead. The empty state carries its own
add button, since it renders no search row.

📝 Walkthrough

The repository page now passes an add-repository callback to RepoList. The empty state and mobile controls use the callback to open the add-repository dialog. The local-server add button is hidden below the md breakpoint.

Changes: Repository Add Actions

Layer / File(s) Summary
Dialog callback wiring
frontend/src/pages/Repos.tsx, frontend/src/components/repo/RepoList.tsx, frontend/src/components/repo/RepoList.test.tsx
Repos passes the dialog-opening callback to RepoList. The empty state renders an add-repository button, and RepoList passes the callback to RepoListControls. The empty-state test checks that the callback runs once when the button is clicked.
Mobile repository controls
frontend/src/components/repo/RepoListControls.tsx, frontend/src/components/repo/RepoListControls.test.tsx
On mobile, RepoListControls renders an add-repository button and uses an icon-sized filter-and-sort trigger with an accessible label and title. Tests check button order, callback invocation, and absence on desktop.

Add a focused RepoList empty-state test.

The current tests do not render the real RepoList empty state. A regression that removes the button, uses the wrong callback, or fails to wire onAddRepo could pass the existing tests. Add one test that renders RepoList with no repositories, clicks Add repository, and expects the supplied callback to run once.

Asserts the empty-state Add repository button calls onAddRepo once, the only add path left on mobile after the header action became desktop-only.
