Also, on homework 2, on slide 8, there was a typo where lower.tail=TRUE gave the wrong answer. I fix this with lower.tail=FALSE. The question is asking for the probability of a few upper tail events where successes of a binomial trial are more than expected. The friend is good at judging wine. |

There was a missing minus sign in the explanation. So, the question looked fine, but actually it had a flaw. I checked the forums to be sure there was a mistake. This forum post shows another mistake, that the explanation really fits a different question, where exactly one of the parents has the flu.
