Issue #1: Empty Directory Bisync Error (Edge Case)

Context: Adding files to a previously empty project that was already synced

Scenario:

  1. Project synced when empty: bm project bisync --name TechKB --resync (0 files)
  2. Later, files added locally to ~/sync-techkb/
  3. Attempted to sync without --resync flag

Error:

Root Cause:

  • When a project is initially synced empty, bisync creates state files
  • When files are later added, bisync sees the state file showing "empty directory" and refuses to sync
  • This is a safety feature in rclone bisync to prevent data loss

Solution: Use --resync flag when adding content to previously empty projects:
