Single quoted string literals are distinguished correctly from double quoted object identifiers during parsing phase. But later in the process string literals are considered to be identifiers too (in group_identifiers).
This wrong behavior was introduced in 0.1.5 and came up here: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=722198
