LLDB fails to launch through remote-linux lldb-server #1230

Open

Description

@robbelouwet

Version and Platform (required):

  • Binary Ninja Version: 6.0.10601 Personal, 87066bd6
  • OS: ubuntu
  • OS Version: 24.04
  • CPU Architecture: x86_64

Bug Description:
I'm following the documented tutorial to set up remote debugging on a linux machine and am failing after specifically this step. Specifically, after setting the correct IP, port, setting 'Platform' to remote-linux, setting the remote working dir to a remote user-writable, existing folder and the local executable path to the actual binary present on the local, binary ninja host; I get an error saying:

LLDB Failed to launch target with "error: Cannot launch '/local/path/to/executable': execve failed: No such file or directory"

(the Executable Path)

The local executable 100% exists.

Steps To Reproduce:
Follow the tutorial provided in the link above.

Expected Behavior:
The binary should launch on the remote target.
