In trying to run the website on an older Mac, I ran into this failure with hugo 0.147.1, 0.147.0, or 0.146.7 - https://anaconda.org/conda-forge/hugo/files - installed via the conda-forge package using miniforge:

❯ hugo server
Error: html/template:single.html:94:24: no such template "_internal/disqus.html"

https://gohugo.io/templates/lookup-order/ didn't explicitly explain where _internal/ is defined - I assumed part of the Hugo installation?

Mh... turns out I run into the same issue on my Linux machine without having changed any install here!

Ah, it seems there's been some refactoring going on in Hugo which in later versions breaks the theme we use: gohugoio/hugo#13599 (and turns out snap must have updated my hugo 🙈)

there's a PR that aims to fix this for our template: halogenica/beautifulhugo#532

In the meanwhile downgrading hugo might be an easy fix while we wait for the changes to come through!

Thanks! So I was on the right lines trying older Hugo, but didn't go back far enough.

https://github.com/OBF/OBF.github.io/blob/main/.github/workflows/hugo.yml is currently using 0.128.0

Yeah, luckily our actual build on GH is version pinned!

There's probably some newer version we could use but maybe for now we keep an eye on the beautiful hugo template and upgrade when they have fixed it!

This is fixed in the current version of the beautifulhugo template and i've just pushed the updated submodule in 1d07ee1.

If pulling the current main branch isn't working, you can run this on your local copy to make sure you get the necessary updates: git submodule update --recursive --remote
