v2.1.0: newly selected preset not immediately applied to map

Using v2.1.0 at NERSC.

• In the first screenshot below, I changed the color reset to "2hot" for the lower view. I saw the color bar updated, but the global map not.
• After I refreshed my browser tab, the global map got updated, too.

I see "note to myself => we are missing a render call"

Pressing z [reset camera] would have updated the view too and updated the colors.
