Lost internet in middle of a session, unable to resume (restarting does not fix it)

What happened

I was using the freebuff chat app when my internet went down, the program still thinks the internet is down 2 hours later and is complaining about certificates.

Steps to reproduce

1. Disconnect your internet.
2. Notice the Freebuff app fails to reconnect and is in a stuck state.

this happened to me but for some reason it works now, no issues, just possibly restart or something? i restarted my pc maybe 4 times then it finally started working, but im having another issue where the "Working..." is just infinite
